A hostel is truly a home away from home. Students of different types hailing from different regions stay together, representing various traditions, cultures, talents, etc. The hostel gives vast scope for respecting differences of opinions, builds up a healthy union of minds and unites the hearts. The hostel life offers plenty of opportunities for growing, individually and collectively. During the stay in the hostel, the student learns to grow more loveable and capable.
Besides learning good qualities and habits from others, the student realizes that he/she can also serve as a role model to others. Some of the traits in a cultured person are: remaining simple, humble, honest, open and truthful. Hostel life provides plenty of occasions to grow in all these traits. The hostel environment itself teaches the student to be generous and magnanimous and to excel in such virtues.
Hence the need of good hostel accommodation near the campus is essential. Besides, the staying place too, is required to have academic environment for study for longer duration and to prevent the students from day to day disturbances and hour to hour distraction. The hostel is located just beside the college campus. A unique touch is given to this hostel, as each of the spacious balconied room overlooks the open grassy meadow with billowing greenery.
Facilities in Hostel
Rooms:
Spacious rooms of size 22 X 20 ft. (440 sq. ft) for 4 students are provided. Each room has two attached bathrooms.Rest Rooms: Each room has two western type rest rooms (bathrooms) i.e one rest room for two students with round the clock running water facility.
Study rooms cum Common Halls:
Separate study rooms cum common halls are provided for boys and girls to enable the students to study during late nights, without disturbing the sleep of other roommates.
Library:
A library is available with around 500 text books of different subjects of Engineering and Management for use by the hostellers.
Internet:
8 Mbps speed wi-fi (Internet) connection is provided to the hostel for use by students for academic purpose. Moreover, each room has 2 points for Internet cable connection.
Mess:
Separate mess is provided for boys and girls. The boys mess of size 2600 sq. ft. is very spacious with good wash basins, dining tables, sufficient ceiling fans, and food serving platform. The girls mess is of 1200 sq. ft. size.
Food:
Good quality food is the prime concern of the hostel. Only branded commodities are used for preparation of food. The Menu is periodically reviewed and fixed based on the suggestions of the Mess Committee comprising of students, wardens and the mess in-charge. Tea and snacks are served every day apart from the regular breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Drinking water:
Mineral water is provided to the students for drinking. Water coolers are kept in the mess and in the corridors.
Hot Water:
Solar water heaters are installed on the terrace of the building for supply of hot water to all the rest rooms in the building.
Cleanliness:
All the rooms and rest rooms are cleaned everyday to maintain the hygiene in the hostel. The mess is well maintained and kept clean and tidy.
Laundry Facility:
Laundry facility is available to students for getting their clothes washed and pressed at nominal charges.
Indoor Games:
Indoor games like caroms, chess, Chinese checkers, etc. are available. Newspapers and television set are also available.
Sports:
Volleyball Ground, Shuttle courts and vast place for playing cricket is available in front of the hostel building for the hostellers. Bats, cricket balls, shuttle rackets, nets, etc. are provided for use by the hostellers apart from the indoor games like caroms, chess, etc.
Post Office:
A post office exists just 1½ km from the hostel building, apart from the courier services.
Store (Shop):
A small store is available in the hostel premises. Stationary items, toilet items, snacks, etc. can be purchased by the students without having to go out of the hostel. Easy recharge of mobile phones and reprography (Xerox) facility too is available.
Medical Emergency:
There is an understanding with Kalki Hospital in Ghatkesar for provision of Ambulance and immediate medical treatment during medical emergencies to students of the hostel.
Generator Facility:
125 KVA generator is available for power back up during power cuts.
Events:
A number of social events such as New Year Celebrations, Holi Celebrations, Sankranti Bhogi, Diwali, etc. are organized for joy and happiness of the hostellers.
Hostel Wardens & Staff:
The warm and friendly staff, always have plenty of time for a chat in the cool and colorful open ground in front of the Hostel. The hostel warden is a qualified Psychologist and is available round the clock either in the college or in the hostel to guide, counsel and advise the needy students. A lady warden and the hostel warden (boys) reside in the hostel premises.
