About the Department

The Department of Science & Humanities assumes a pivotal role in cultivating students’ foundational understanding of both science and language. Established in 2008, the department initially comprised 18 proficient teaching faculty members. Presently, it boasts a substantial team of 21 members, characterized by diverse expertise and notable professional qualifications.

The department provides an array of courses encompassing Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English. Within its purview, the department delves into subjects such as Engineering Mathematics, Probability & Statistics, Advanced Engineering Mathematics, Environmental Studies, English language proficiency, Business Communication Skills, and Soft Skills. In addition to theoretical components, the first and third-year courses incorporate language laboratories as integral facets of the curriculum. These facilities are designed to empower students in refining their Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing (LSRW) skills, as well as engaging in practical exercises like resume preparation, group discussions, presentations, and honing interview skill

The Second and Third year B. Tech students are also provided with Mathematics and English courses. The curriculum of the first year (I B.Tech) encompasses subjects such as Mathematics, English language, Physics, and Chemistry. Given that a substantial proportion of the first-year curriculum originates from the Science and Humanities (S&H) department, this department assumes responsibility for the academic well-being of all first-year students. In contrast, it focuses on guiding students through the subjects pertinent to the Second and Third years.
