About the Department

Established in 2008, the Department of Civil Engineering began with a B.Tech program and expanded in 2010 to include an M.Tech in Structural Engineering. It features well-equipped labs covering areas like Concrete Technology, Geotechnical Engineering, Surveying, Hydraulics, and Advanced Structural Design, alongside the Advanced Concrete Research and Innovation Center (ACRIC), which focuses on sustainable concrete solutions by incorporating innovative materials and industrial waste to reduce cement usage and support green building practices. The department employs diverse teaching methods—classroom lectures, student presentations, video tutorials, experiential learning, and global online courses—to ensure an engaging and comprehensive learning experience.

Mission

M1:To design curriculum based on changing needs of stakeholders & provide excellence in delivery & assessment to ensure holistic development of civil engineering students.

M2:To enhance research & consultancy resulting in solving problems related to Civil engineering infrastructure as well as society at large.

Head of the Department

Dr G Hathi Ram

Dr. G. Hathiram is an accomplished professional with a strong academic and industrial background. He obtained his B.E. in Civil Engineering from MVSR Engineering College, affiliated with Osmania University in 2004. He further pursued his M.E. in Structures from CBIT, also affiliated with Osmania University, in 2010. His academic journey culminated with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Kakatiya University, Warangal, in 2022.

Dr. Hathiram possesses valuable industrial experience in the realm of planning and designing both RCC and Steel structures. His extensive career spans over 13 years in the field of teaching, including administrative roles. Within KLRCET, he has held various positions and has been the Head of the Department since 2010. Notably, he also served as an officer in charge of examinations. His association with KLRCET dates back to 2009.

He is a distinguished member of professional organizations such as MIE (Member of Institution of Engineers India) and ACCI (Association of Civil & Construction Industrial). Dr. Hathiram’s academic contributions are substantiated by 15 publications in esteemed international journals and conferences, reflecting his commitment to advancing the field of Civil Engineering.
