Our Civil Engineering curriculum is designed to build a strong foundation in structural design, construction technology, geotechnics, transportation, and environmental engineering. With a perfect blend of theory and hands-on learning, students gain practical skills through labs, fieldwork, and real-world projects. The program nurtures future-ready engineers who can design sustainable infrastructure and tackle modern engineering challenges with confidence.

Core Curriculum Offerings

BUILDING LABS

The Department of Civil Engineering provides well-equipped laboratories for student training, including facilities for surveying and geomatics, material testing, CADD, geotechnical engineering, transportation systems, and environmental engineering. These laboratories support practical learning with industry-standard equipment and technologies

MATERIAL TESTING LABORATORY I & II

Our Surveying Laboratory provides students with essential tools and equipment to master land measurement techniques. Equipped with traditional instruments like theodolites, dumpy levels, and compasses alongside modern digital tools such as total stations, the lab enables hands-on practice in various surveying methods - from plane table surveys to advanced topographic mapping. As surveying forms the foundation of all civil engineering projects, this facility helps students develop practical skills for accurately determining land elevations, boundaries, and spatial relationships, preparing them for real-world infrastructure development challenges.

SURVEYING LABORATORY I &II

Our Materials Testing Laboratory, established in 2008, plays a crucial role in ensuring construction safety and durability by testing everything from concrete and steel to soil and bitumen. Equipped with essential machines like Universal Testing Machines (UTM), Compression Testing Machines (CTM), hardness testers, and impact testers, we help students and professionals evaluate construction materials before use. The lab not only supports academic training but also conducts real-world consultancy work, including highway material tests and pavement designs. By testing concrete samples, analyzing material hardness, and examining bituminous mixes, we prepare students to guarantee the quality and longevity of future construction projects.

CADD LABORATORY

Our Design and Drafting Lab helps civil engineering students turn ideas into professional plans using the latest CAD software. This hands-on space gives students 24/7 access to modern design tools that improve accuracy, speed up project visualization, and prepare technical documentation. Beyond classroom exercises, the lab builds real-world skills - from creating construction drawings to developing solutions for community projects. Whether designing structures or preparing manufacturing specifications, students graduate ready to use these essential digital tools in their professional careers.
